Pay to Participate

Portage Public Schools asks families to help offset the cost of providing extra-curricular activities through the ‘Pay-to-Participate’ plan. The plan off-sets part off the costs of providing these programs, but is a positive alternative to eliminating programs.

The Pay-to-Participate is for students at the middle and high school levels (grades 6-12) participating in extracurricular activities. It includes varsity athletics, all intramural sports, as well as certain clubs and other extra-curricular activities, like musical productions, play productions, debate and forensics – except when students are participating in these activities as a class.

We want to make sure the plan if affordable to all families and that no student is prevented from being a part of extracurricular activities. We offer a cap on fees for families with multiple students, and financial assistance is available.

All we ask is that the fee is paid in full by the first competition/performance so your student can fully participate in their program.  You can pay your fee at your school, or online by clicking the button to the right. Please use the worksheets below to calculate the appropriate fee for your family situation.
