Kindergarten Phys Ed Quarterly Report

November 2003

Dear Kindergarten Parents,

The following concepts have been introduced to your child in physical education class during the first marking period:

• Following directions by listening, asking questions, doing an activity, following a leader, and using equipment correctly

• Proper use of space—understanding that in the gym we have personal space that belongs to us so that we can all participate safely

• Knowing various body parts and ways we use them (i.e. turning, twisting, bending, straightening, etc.)

• Aerobic fitness—being able to run or play for a long time without stopping

• Flexibility concepts—understanding that we want our muscles to be flexible like a rubber band so that we can participate in activities without getting injured

• Instep kick—using proper form to kick a ball with the instep (where the laces are)

• Foot dribbling using the inside of the foot

If you have any questions, please contact me here at school.

Sincerely,

Mike Getsinger
Physical Education Specialist
