What is AR?

Accelerated Reader (AR) is a program that motivates students to read by rewarding them points for comprehension of stories read independently.

How does it work?

1.    Student reads a book.
Students choose their own books and read them at their own pace.

2.    Student takes a quiz on the computer.
AR’s Reading Practice Quizzes help us motivate and monitor increased reading practice.

3.    Student and teacher get information!
Both the student and teacher get immediate, individualized constructive feedback to direct ongoing reading practice.
