Community High School has two main sports teams, volleyball and softball. The teams are lead by Kathy Ha and compete in the Michigan Alternative Athletic Association. The softball team is very successful and the volleyball teams are multiple time state champions. Both teams are held to high standards of academic excellence and eligibility. Softball Sports Beat

The 2011 Panther Volleyball team played its first games on 11/3 against Jonesville. The girls, forced to play on the losing side of a 4-6 matchup due to eligibility issues, fell to Jonesville 23-25 and 23-25. The men's team was more successful, winning their games 25-18 and 25-13. The co-ed team, which requires two girls to be on the court at all times, won a three-match game 19-25, 25-13, and 25-15.

The 2010 Panther Volleyball Team

The Panther Co-Ed Volleyball team finished the season strong by winning their third consecutive M.A.A.A. state championship.

The team was also recognized for their achievement on February 25 by the Portage City Council. They received praise from state representative Margaret O'Brien, state senator Debbie Stabenow, and state governor Rick Snyder.
