The 2008 PCHS Senior Academic Achievement Awards and Mustang Rideout will be held at McCamley Field at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 (special note - in the case of inclement weather, the Rideout will be held in the PC Auditorium). Departmental awards nominees and winners will be announced and honor chords will be presented. National Merit finalists, IB Diploma candidates, Senior Athlete Award recipients, and Excellence in Education winners will be recognized. The students receiving the Most Improved Academic Award will also be honored.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

1 - 3rd hrs. Class as usual 4th hr. (10:30 a.m.) Meeting w/ Mr. Alburtus in auditorium 12:30 p.m. All Seniors report to grassy area outside auditorium to line up - please dress up for occasion! 1:00 - ? Awards and Mustang Rideout

Senior Exams and Dates to Graduation

Students must pass two of the three semester components in order to get credit for a course, so exams are more important than in previous years. As always, two days have been set aside for second-semester senior exams. Rather than put seniors in a position of having to take as many as seven exams in one day, here is the schedule.

1. Senior exams will be limited to one class period in length.
2. We will alternate which exams fall on which day, in order to spread them across the two days.
3. The opposing day will be a “Reading Day” for seniors to use as preparation time. Attendance will be taken.

At the end of the day, Seniors stop at the Blue or Gold office and pick up a check-out sheet.

Wednesday, May 28

Seniors return release slips to the principal in the cafeteria between 7:20 and 8:00 (This is their ticket to walking at graduation.)

Thursday, May 29 - GRADUATION DAY!!!!!

Your son or daughter will receive a map of Wings Stadium and schedule for graduation rehearsal, and he or she will have the opportunity to write down where he or she will be progressing out for the graduation ceremony. Please encourage him or her to write this information down so you can decide where is the best place to sit. Because we are at Wings, there is no limit on how many people you may bring to the ceremony.

The Seniors' schedule for the day is as follows:

8:00 a.m. Senior breakfast (Seniors must be here in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.) 8:45 a.m. Graduation rehearsal in the auditorium 9:30 a.m. Seniors get their gifts and enjoy the day (....safely) 6:10 p.m. Meet at Wings Stadium for the Graduation ceremony at their designated spot 7:00 p.m. Graduation begins!!!
