Invitation to apply for membership into the National Honor Society will begin in late September. Junior and senior students who have a weighted GPA of 3.8 or higher are eligible and will be invited by letter to submit application. The application process will take about 2-3 weeks. After submission of all paperwork, the PNHS Faculty Council for NHS will convene and will select members in October.
Students who are interested in NHS selection should continue to maintain the required GPA, should be active in leadership roles in a variety of activities and should participate in many community service events. Students should be able to verify, with an adult signature of the event coordinator, their participation in community service events and activities. Underclassmen should begin to acquire as many volunteer hours and activities as possible to prepare them for NHS selection during their junior and senior years.
