CMS students: please listen carefully. Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 10th, no backpacks will be allowed in the building. So, at the end of the day today, take your backpack home and place it in your closet so it is ready to use in the fall. Once again, starting tomorrow, no backpacks are allowed in the Central Middle School building. Teachers please reinforce this announcement with your students and answer any questions they might have regarding this policy.

This announcement goes out to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students: As you know, Tuesday Central Middle School students will be recognized for achievement in a number of different ways at Honors Assemblies for each of the three grade levels. To observe this very special day we will sponsor a “Dress-up and Picture Day.” Students will be encouraged to wear dress-up style clothing for this special occasion at school. Also, this will be the one time in the school year where students will be permitted to bring cameras to school and take pictures as a way of capturing memories o the special event. Once again, it is Tuesday, June 10th. All students are encouraged to participate.

Attention all students: Before you receive your yearbooks today, it is important that you think about how to be caring and respectful when you exchange yearbooks with others to write your signatures or mention memorable moments for your classmates to read in later years. It is your responsibility to be positive, considerate and appropriate, remembering that parents and other family members will be reading their students’ yearbooks. Poor judgment on your part could result in the purchase of a new yearbook on your part.

Any 8th grade girl who would like to play golf for PCHS next fall, please sign up in the main office by the end of the day tomorrow. You may also contact Coach Marc Uhlman (pronounced Yule-man) at 323-5245.

Any 8th grade Boy or girl interested in joining the PCHS Swimming or Diving teams next year, please sign up in the office.

Today, Tuesday, June 10th, a special group of 8th graders will be recognized by the 8th grade team of teachers. They are receiving a “Thumbs Up Award” for their attendance, behavior, and work ethic. This celebration will be recognition for their efforts during the months of April, May and June. They will receive a special Lunch today. They will be dismissed from classes at 11:55 and will go directly to the cafeteria. Instead of buying or bringing a lunch, they will be served hotdogs, hamburgers, etc. in the courtyard grilled by CMS teachers: Mr. Juodawlkis, and Mr. Mckenzie. 8th grade thumbs up award winners, enjoy your free special lunch! YOUR TEACHERS ARE PROUD OF YOU!!!

All 6th and 7th grade boys or girls who are planning to run Cross Country in the fall: Please make sure you sign up in the main office today. Coach Gregory will be contacting you this summer regarding summer conditioning workouts.

Boys Track members: Please stop by Mrs. Roach’s room, #71< to collect missing certificates. Medals from the conference meet and your Portage Central Track and Field packet, which lists all the top times and distances.
