West Can Food Drive:

“Can” one person make a difference?  For West Middle School, the answer is a resounding YES…and almost 4,000 “cans” proved it!  The West family of students pooled their individual resources together to collect enough cans and other food items to fill the Portage Community Center’s food pantry shelves to overflowing.  The Student Leaders, a group of dedicated sixth, seventh, and eighth graders under the direction of advisors Amy Gray and Heidi Hively, organized West’s annual “We CAN do it!” food drive for PCC.  Cans came to school in backpacks, paper bags, wagons, and boxes…each single item adding up to a truck full of food for families in the Portage Community.  Way to go West!
