The real winner of the Battle of the Bins Rivalry was the Portage community!
The District partnered with the City of Portage for a friendly competition for the benefit of Twelve Baskets Food Pantry -- and the community delivered.
In total, we collected 3,840 pounds of non-perishable food for the local food bank. Portage Central won the competition with 2,262 pounds, beating Portage Northern's 1,578 pounds of collected food items.
But the competition wasn't about who won. It was about coming together as friends and neighbors to support our community. Way to go, Portage!
