Principal Jeremy Zonts was named the Region 4 Principal of the Year by MEMSPA (Michigan Elementary & Middle School Principals Association)!
Zonts was honored by the PPS Board of Education Monday, Dec. 8, and surprised by his students at school.
The award honors leadership, vision and the kind of impact that reaches far beyond one classroom or one hallway.
"We see the long days, the endless energy, and the calm during chaos, and the ways you make this building feel like home," Teacher Erin Crouch said. "We wanted you to know we notice, we appreciate you, and we are so proud to call you our principal."

Zonts began in education as an intern at Lake Center Elementary in 1999. He would later be hired as a fifth grade teacher in the fall of 2000 and work six years before moving on to West Middle School where he taught an additional six years. Around 2012, he was hired as the principal at Haverhill where he continues today.
"What a special surprise, I am honored," Zonts said. "A principal is only as good as the people he works with, so I want you to make sure all the staff at Haverhill know that I got this award because of them, I got this award because of how hard you work as students.
"I am truly honored and blessed to be part of this wonderful community." he said.
