KRESA stopped at Portage Community High School yesterday on their Reality Fair tour! Dozens of Juniors and Seniors got a taste of adulting by picking a career and salary and making lifestyle choices. At the end, they figured out if they are living within their means. Great life lessons being taught at CoHS!

Congratulations to Prakash Shekhar from Portage Central for being selected as one of only 13 Michigan students selected as semifinalists for the 2024 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program! Prakash was selected by the U.S. Department of Education for the prestigious program, which recognizes some of the most distinguished and accomplished graduating high school seniors in the country. “Michigan’s U.S. Presidential Scholars Program semifinalists can take great pride in their accomplishments,” said State Superintendent Dr. Michael Rice. “I’m proud of these young people. They are representative of the great work that our state’s students are doing with support from their families and outstanding educators. I wish them luck as the U.S. Department of Education chooses this year’s scholars.”

The time is nearly here to register for PPS Summer Camps! Here are a few key things you should know: - Registration will open at 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 1. - You will register through GoFan. You can view the Camp Catalog and find the registration link at www.portageps.org/summercamps. - Your child will attend camps based on the grade they will be in the 24-25 school year. - Each PPS student is allowed to register for ONE (1) PEF STEP camp only to make room for everyone. The PEF camps have limited space and will fill quickly. Students can register for multiple sports camps. We look forward to another great summer of learning and fun!
