Students took the drivers seat this week while drafting a vision for a new Angling Road Elementary.
Architects and designers from Fielding International and TowerPinkster who are in charge of creating the new school spent the day hearing directly from students on what would make a great new learning space. The students shared with the project leaders about what they hoped to see in a new school as well as what they love about their current building.

Cozy learning spots, flexible seating options and a larger library and playground were highlights from the students' feedback. After sharing with the architects and designers about their favorite spaces in their current buildings, students took the adults on a tour of their school where they pointed out the best places to learn, socialize with friends, play and read.
The design of a new school will be influenced by the feedback from students, the architects said. A second opportunity this week was presented to Angling Road staff to give their opinions.
A new Angling Road was made possible after voters approved the 2025 Bond to Finish the Job. Angling Road will be the fifth new elementary school to open -- completing the District's efforts to replace the oldest buildings. In the fall of 2025, a new Central and Haverhill opened. In 2027, a new Woodland will open, followed by Amberly in 2028 and Angling Road in 2029.
