Our Daily Announcements to our students

Thanks for your support last Friday!

We had a wonderful community event last Friday, with awesome food trucks and the PC-PN football game, the Friday Football Tailgate game day show, an amazing marching band, and collecting food for a local charity – and a bunch more! It was wonderful to have thousands of folks there, having a great time with fun and fellowship. Here is a recap:

  • Didn’t get a chance to watch the game-day show? No worries: click right here to take a look!

  • Fun pictures to purchase of the whole evening, from cheerleaders to the tailgate to action shots of our football players. Thanks to our PC dads who make this possible!

  • Our very own PCTV and their professional-level broadcast of the entire game.

  • And we got a few pictures too at the Tailgate that are free; click this link to take a look!. My favorites are the one of Nonie Knight, Bob’s awesome wife! If you would like to share any pictures of the event, send them my way, and I will include them in this folder. Thanks!

RSVPs are important so we can ensure we have the resources and space needed to assist everyone effectively.

College-application deadline rapidly approaching

There are several colleges with a November 1st deadline. It is helpful to discuss application deadlines with your family. Seniors, if you are utilizing the Common Application to apply for college, invite your counselor on the Common App now. Be sure to use the correct email address for your counselor.  It takes time for the invitation to be sent to the counselors and then they need time to complete their pieces of the application before the deadline.

Just a reminder…

Speaking of young kids…

Woodland Helpers is a service hours opportunity that occurs every Wednesday after school from 3:15 pm to 3:45 pm. Woodland Helpers is a tutoring program for elementary students at Woodland Elementary, that aims to help the children academically while simultaneously building a mentorship relationship between the high school student and the elementary student. If your student is interested and is excited to commit to enriching the life of an elementary student, then have them sign up through this google form.  The student must sign up being logged into their Portage account. Students are able to earn volunteer hours with consistent attendance in helping.  If they have any questions, please have them contact Sophia Loso at sophia.loso@portageps.org, Olin Rohrstaff at olin.rohrstaff@portageps.org or the Woodland Coordinator:  Mrs. Loso at mloso@portageps.org
