Tomorrow officially kicks off our Fall sports season! Cross Country and Football have their first practices, and Volleyball tryouts begin. A few reminders for our Pioneer student-athletes:
In order to participate in a practice or tryout, you must have an updated physical uploaded to FinalForms and your account must be all green. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are having any difficulty, feel free to email Mr. Moon at tmoon@portageps.org. He will also be around during practices and tryouts tomorrow.
Wear appropriate clothing for your sport and bring water!

Join us for the Portage Public Schools Enrollment Event!
Need help enrolling your student for the 2026–27 school year? Stop by on Thursday, August 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Portage Central High School Commons. Our staff will be available to assist families through the enrollment process and answer any questions.
Families can also enjoy free food, giveaways, school bus tours, and information from community partners. Human Resources staff will be on-site to share employment opportunities with Portage Public Schools.
Please bring:
• Parent/Guardian photo ID (and proof of guardianship, if applicable)
• Birth certificate
• Proof of residency
• Immunization records (or an approved waiver)
• Current high school transcript (for high school students)
Please note: Due to construction on South Westnedge Avenue, visitors should park on the north side of Portage Central High School and follow the signs around the building to the event entrance.
We look forward to helping your family get ready for a successful school year!

A few of our rising 7th & 8th grade Pioneers have participated in a 2 week Project Based Learning Summer Experience with both Mustang and Husky peers.
They have engaged in two projects: 1) The Dirty Truth - Can Earth be saved...or is Mars our only hope? and 2) 50 Years of Interest - Can students help create a class of millionaires?
The students have learned, researched, and developed unique, authentic public products they will be presenting at their Share Fair this Thursday.
Great job middle schoolers! Can't wait to see what they've come up with!

PIONEERS! We have some amazing summer news to share!
Today at the New Balance Nationals at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Cooper Pound took fifth in the NATION in the middle school division for the 800m run. He broke 2 minutes, finishing in 1:59, a Personal Best! He received an All American patch on the podium.
Congratulations Cooper!! What an outstanding accomplishment! Way to represent on the national stage!
