The time is nearly here to register for PPS Summer Camps! Here are a few key things you should know:
- Registration will open at 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 1.
- You will register through GoFan. You can view the Camp Catalog and find the registration link at www.portageps.org/summercamps.
- Your child will attend camps based on the grade they will be in the 24-25 school year.
- Each PPS student is allowed to register for ONE (1) PEF STEP camp only to make room for everyone. The PEF camps have limited space and will fill quickly. Students can register for multiple sports camps.
We look forward to another great summer of learning and fun!


The Portage District Library hosted a field trip for young fives students across the District today. Students learned about the lifecycle of frogs, farm animals, how worms help in a garden and more!










Let us introduce to you a new PPS staff member -- Rio! He will serve as a comfort dog at Portage Community High School.

Huskies celebrated their Unified Club Tuesday with a friendly game of kickball between students, staff and officers from the Portage Department of Public Safety.
The club is aimed at promoting social connections through sports and joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team.











The talent of forensics students was on display at Portage Central High this week. Students who are part of the competitive speech team performed for classmates ahead of Forensics Friends and Family Night next week.

The Career Fair at Portage Northern High gave students the chance to speak to industry professionals and learn more about potential careers including engineering, health, plumbing, tattooing, military, policing and many more.











It was an exciting day at Portage North Middle School! Chef Jet Tila came to the school to demo a stir fry dish, sign autographs and discuss his career as a professional chef and Food Network star.
Thank you to Chef Jet and Chartwells K12 for this amazing opportunity for our students.





Become enchanted by the tale of "Beauty and the Beast" this weekend! Students from Portage Central Middle School will perform the love story as pure as a rose beginning Thursday, April 18.

Our PPS staff members represented this past week at the Boston Marathon!! Mr. Krzan, math and AP government teacher at Portage Central High completed the race. Here he is pictured after the finish line with a fellow teacher from Loy Norrix High in Kalamazoo.

Congratulations to Lifen Lu on running the Boston Marathon and placing 147th out of 934 runners in her age category! Lifen is a food service worker at Portage Northern High and one of our wonderful PPS staff members.

Did you know April is National School Library Month? At today's Professional Development, PPS Librarians from across the District met to learn how to best support our reading superstars!


Reminder, there is no school for students Friday, April 12. Staff will be present for their own day of professional learning!

Students at Portage North Middle School will have an amazing experience this month meeting celebrity Chef Jet Tila. The Food Network star will visit the middle school in April to introduce new recipes and provide a cooking demonstration. This special visit is part of "Global Eats," a new program from PPS's food service partner Chartwells K12.
Chef Jet will demo recipes created in collaboration with Chartwells K12 for the China stop, including an Asian Rice Bowl with chicken, brown rice, fresh stir fry vegetables, and Chef Jet’s own sweet and sour sauce recipe.


The Eclipse was a great learning experience at 12th Street Elementary!





Middle and high school students from across town came together this week for the Tenor Bass Choir Clinic. Singers from four schools spent their day together rehearsing and learning best practices for making music with their voice. Great job, Huskies and Mustangs!
