Vinny Degani is one of dozens of PPS high school students who spend part of their day at the new Career Connect campus. February is Career, Technical Education Month, and we spoke to a handful of students about why they love their CTE courses.
Degani said his favorite part about attending classes at the Career Connect campus is the dedicated learning spaces they provide.
"I love how we have a dedicated space where we are simulating real-life cases," the Rehab Therapy student said of his classroom, which looks much like a regular therapy office.

What a dynamic group of counselors at PPS! This week is National School Counseling Week. Our counselors wear many different hats—high school counselors are part academic GPS, part college application guide, and part emotional first responder—helping students pick classes, survive post-secondary planning, and navigate everything from “I missed the deadline” to “my life is falling apart,” all before lunch.
Middle school counselors help students survive the leap from elementary to high school by guiding course choices, teaching self-management and social skills, and providing calm reassurance during a daily mix of locker drama, big feelings, and “Is this going on my permanent record?” moments.
Thank you, PPS Counselors!
