Multiple community organizations are hosting a Tornado Resource Event Friday, May 24, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Portage Zhang Senior Center for any families impacted by the tornado. Please spread the word with your neighbors.

It may be hot outside, but we are already looking ahead to winter! We are happy to announce the upcoming musicals for early 2025, including a collaborative show involving both Portage Northern and North Middle students.

The paddle board is not only beautiful but functional too! Riley and others tested out the Grand Champion award winner in the Portage Northern High Natatorium .

Congratulations to longtime Haverhill Elementary teacher Tajia Anderson for winning the Partners in Education Award through the Kalamazoo County Education Association. Tajia is retiring after 33 years in education -- 25 of those years at Haverhill! Here she is pictured with her 3rd grade teaching team at the awards this week.

Track and Field Athletes from across the region will descend on Portage Central campus Friday, May 17, for the MHSAA regional competition. Please prepare for additional traffic and limited parking throughout the area.

Alligators, snakes, turtles, oh my!
Young Fives students from across the District met scaly, slimy and slithery reptiles Wednesday including alligators, a bearded dragon, a python, a turtle and more from the Alligator Sanctuary. Thank you to the wildlife experts who brought such an amazing experience to our learners.

We are so proud to announce that Northern High student Riley Reinhart's paddle board project took home the prestigious Grand Champion award from the Michigan Industrial & Technology Education Society's state championship last week. Congratulations to Riley!!!

A Portage community member and former PPS teacher extended her gratitude today for eight students who spent time last week clearing downed trees from her yard after the tornado. Join us in thanking these students and others who volunteered their time to help out their neighbors.
