Happy Thanksgiving! If you're a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade fan, you'll appreciate the homemade "parade" made by 3rd-5th graders last week at Lake Center Elementary. The students learned about the history of the annual parade and made their own balloons to line their hallway.

Students at Portage Community High School are Greek champions! The students learned about Greece and Rome by playing their own Greek Olympic Games Wednesday, including standing jump, discus throw and hoop rolling. Students also constructed a Lego Roman Colosseum that was 1,756 pieces, and had a taste test of Roman vs. Greek cheesecakes.

Last week, the Woodland Elementary library collaborated with the Portage District Library to bring beginning coding skills to Mrs. Fryer's kindergarten class using STEAM Learning Robots. Each small group of kindergarten students was partnered with a 5th grade student. The students had to use the color squares to code the robot to perform specific maneuvers and make it through the path they built for it. The 5th grade students were there to help support and strengthen the WOD community by being mentors to the younger students. Great job, Woodland!
