Honoring our legends! Join us for the conclusion of our virtual parade as we celebrate the incredible careers of our retiring staff. Bob Seufert has been with PNHS "forever." He is excited to do a lot of traveling and spend time with his grandson. Kip Waltke came to PNHS from PNMS in 2010. His retirement plans include, relaxing and spending time with family, sleeping in and not getting up until 8am, travel (currently already booked cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska), making regular trips to watch the Tigers and Lions play as well as continuing to coach LAX and work at Wings Stadium. GO HUSKIES! Thank you for the years of dedication and heart! #huskieforlife #packstrong

Mrs. Anthony will be leaving Portage Northern at the end of this school year to teach full time at Western Michigan University in the Family & Consumer Science Department & the Workforce Education Department (aka Career & Technical Education). She will be teaching future educators or educators who are working towards a higher degree &/or certain certifications they need, along with a few FCS courses that various majors must take.
Mrs. Anthony has been teaching for 14 years and 12 of them have been at Portage Northern High School! She says she will miss SO much about Portage Northern, but here are few things summarized -
"First, my teacher besties, who have been an amazing support system! I've shared so many laughs, vent sessions and heartfelt conversations over the years with them. Without these teachers by my side (who understand the intense challenges along with triumphs of the job, and valued me as an educator and person), I'm not sure I would have gotten through each week!"
"Second, I will miss the entire PN community! I will forever cheer on the Huskies! PNHS is an incredible school that provides so many opportunities for students, and I am grateful I got to be a part of it for so long. The relationships and connections I made over the years have made such an impact on my life. #PACKSTRONG"
"Lastly, it may seem silly, but I will miss the program I have built and have dedicated my life to. I have considered my classroom and classes as my "3rd baby". I've spent countless hours outside of the school day buying groceries and equipment, cleaning, organizing and setting up the lab space, building the curriculum practically from scratch, and creating engaging lessons. The job allowed me to share my passion with so many students while also teaching them very necessary life skills!" Good Luck Mrs. Anthony! Don't be a stranger! #huskieforlife
