Happy Snow Day Friday Pioneers! Next week is the last week of Winston's Shoe Fundraiser! We are less than 200 pairs of shoes away from our goal of 3,000 pairs! Let's finish this drive STRONG with a goal of 500 pairs of shoes this week! We have one more "ShoesDay" Tuesday to see which grade will win the end of fundraiser activity. Our 7th grade is currently in the lead. Let's see who will win! Send your gently used, worn, or new shoe donations with your Pioneers or bring them by the school between 8am and 6pm. Winston was in the building for training today! His trainers from Ugly Dog Daycare came from the east side of the state to work with administration, our counselors, and Mrs. Jawahir on commands, calls, and best practices. Thank you Ugly Dog for taking care of Winston, your training, and your continued support! During each transition, Winston sat at the window and watched his Pioneer friends walk by. Some of them peeked through the window back at him! He can't wait to meet you! Our 6th graders are having Project Based Learning experiences in their content literacy courses each Quarter. Yesterday, the Social Studies Literacy class had a "soft opening" of their bead companies. They've been exploring the world of entrepreneurship, creating their own businesses, conducting market research and competitive analysis, gaining an understanding of key business vocabulary and concepts, and more! These Pioneers are creating a realistic financial plan by calculating costs of materials, labor, and distribution and determining what they must charge to make a profit in their business! Yesterday was a great experience for all!
