Huskies it's time to show the Children of Tanzania we are packstrong! For the past 20 years we have been supporting the kids of the Tuleeni Orphanage Home. If every person at Northern donates at least $2 we can cover the cost of school for the kids. Donations can be made in your 7th hour class or in room 2.134. The 7th hour that raises the most money will earn a pizza party. New this year are $2gether for Tuleeni tshirts. 100% of the profits will go to Tuleeni. Shirts can be purchased for a $12 or more donation before school in room 2.134 or during lunch! We would love everyone to wear their shirt or green on Friday, March 15th to show support for this awesome cause!

They willalso get to form a tunnel and cheer on the team as they run out on the court.-Student are invited to participate in a Shoot-out Activity during Halftime.-First 100 elementary students will receive free Huskie swag.

Learn Executive Function Skills to Decrease Stress and Anxiety! In many ways, executive function is just another term for “study skills,” skills many middle and high school students do not develop until their homework becomes rigorous enough to demand it. Failure to learn these skills often causes problems for students, problems that cause stress and impact social, emotional, and academic well-being. These students aren’t immature or lazy – they are struggling! Executive function skills include, but are not limited to: Time Management Organization Planning and Prioritizing Task Initiation/Procrastination Sustained Attention/Task Completion Working Memory Goal-Directed Persistence Dr. Kelly Schultz and Nan Janecke of WMU’s Academically Talented Youth Program will help students, parents, and teachers learn tips, tricks, and strategies to improve executive function and relieve stress and anxiety related to homework. From understanding weekly time commitments to coping with digital distractions, from old-school techniques like timers to new school tools like virtual calendars, develop skills that help relieve stress and anxiety – and go from struggling to achieving! This FREE presentation is open to the public. Monday, February 26, 2024 7 p.m. Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency 1819 E.
