Yesterday, we held several Woohoo ticket raffles for our Pioneers. In addition to School Store being open, our PTSO graciously sponsored a student raffle for all 3 lunches. Airway Fun Center, Celebration Cinema, and Peace, Love & Little Donuts sponsored our end of day student raffles. Our Pioneers earn Woohoo tickets by exhibiting The West Way throughout the day. That means they are 1) Taking care of themselves, 2) Taking of each other, and 3) Taking care of this place. On Wednesday, December 6th, our swimming & diving Pioneers had meets w/ their Mustang and Huskie teammates. Check out the results. Congratulations to all of the swimmers and divers! Several of them made MISCA cuts which is their State meet times! Way to go! #AllIn #TheWestWay

Our Holiday Concert Series begins this Monday! Be sure to come see our band, choir, and orchestra students put on a display of their work over the year so far and music for the holiday season. Members of the WMS 7th/8th grade bands and the 8th grade orchestra performed at Barnes & Noble on Friday, December 1st. Many students performed in a small ensemble. Last Friday, December 1st, Mr. Chappa and Mrs. Howe took a group of 8th grade Pioneers to the Western Michigan University Innovation Expo. These scholars presented their products, models, and prototypes to a panel of judges and the community along with other K-12 and WMU students. Ryan C. and Adrian D. won 3rd place at the event! Our Portage Central and Portage Northern high school students are partnering this week to collect diapers for those in need. Donations can be dropped off this week at either high school or at the rivalry basketball games Thursday and Friday. Great job, Mustangs and Huskies!
