March is Reading Month! Our library is hosting "March Book Madness" all month, where students will vote for their favorite books! The first round of voting ends tomorrow. Our Mathcounts team traveled to Oakland University to compete in the state competition last weekend! We are so proud for how they represented themselves, Portage West, and Portage Public Schools! Congratulations on an amazing season! Special thanks to Jason Shaye, who is currently a senior at Portage Central High School, for volunteering to serve as our team's coach for the past two years. Reminder: The Community Focus Group for the Superintendent Search is tomorrow, Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 6pm, at the Administration Building. Community Members are invited to participate in a focus group as part of the search process for the next Superintendent of Portage Public Schools. Participants will be asked to share their views regarding the qualifications desired in a new superintendent. Mr. Andy Ingall from the Michigan Leadership Institute, who is helping the School Board conduct the search, will lead these meetings. In addition, participants will also contribute to developing the district “Points of Pride” which will describe to candidates the advantages of living and working in the Portage community. The meeting will be held in Conference Room 1 at the Administration Building, 8107 Mustang Dr. If you are unable to attend but would like to share your thoughts, please access a short survey at portageps.org. Each Focus Group is scheduled for approximately 45 minutes.
